Hiking paths, waters for fishing and forests full of berries are just next door, if not even on the premises. Nearest village shop is a few kilometers away, and the village also hosts several events each summer.
The Repovesi National Park can be reached even by boat. In the park there is a suspension bridge, a viewing tower, a climbing rock, lions, many campfire sites, and good opportunities for hiking and relaxation.
The nearest city is Kouvola, about half an hour drive away. Culture loves will find there a theater and variety of concert venues and interesting museums. A summer day can be speeded up in Tykkimäki amusement park.
Verla is a Unesco World Heritage site that captures an interesting phase of development in Finland’s history. The old Groundwood and Board Mill became Finland’s first factory museum in 1972, and can be visited during summer months as part of a guided tour. The museum offers tours in various languages.
